Caritas Financial Plans was incorporated and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on July 20, 2007, with an initial paid-up capital stock of P150M. On November 25, 2007 the Insurance Commission granted Caritas Financial Plans its Certificate of Authority to operate as a Pre-Need Company with paid-up capital of P150M.

Caritas Financial Plans is a 100% subsidiary of CARITAS HEALTH SHIELD, INC., the umbrella organization of the Caritas Group of Companies.

From its modest beginnings in 1995, Caritas Health Shield now ranks as one of the country’s top providers of personalized health care services. With an asset base of over P8.5 Billion as of year end 2011, Caritas Health Shield confidently provides customer-friendly medical services for all its privileged and ever-growing number of 500,000 members.
In pursuit of its desire to provide excellent and diversified services to the changing needs of the Filipino family, Caritas Health Shield has established subsidiaries which individually and collectively cater to its members’ medical and financial requirements: Caritas Life Insurance, and the Caritas Financial Plans.

Caritas Financial Plans has been of service to the Filipino family since 2007 and started with 3 branches in Metro Manila. It hasn’t looked back since. Now we are present in 13 locations nationwide and are expanding rapidly.

Originally incorporated and registered on October 8, 1993 as Vantage Pension and Education Plans, Inc., the company was acquired by Caritas Health Shield, Inc., on September 21, 2005. On March 8, 2007, the company was subsequently renamed CARITAS FINANCIAL PLANS, INC.

On June 29, 2007, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) formally approved the registration of the P150 Million-capitalized CARITAS FINANCIAL PLANS as a dealer of securities in the form of pre-need plans. Marketing operations began on July 27, 2007. After the supervision and regulation of all pre-need companies have been transferred to the Insurance Commission (IC) as an effect of the 2010 Pre-Need Code of the Philippines (RA 9829), CARITAS FINANCIAL PLANS was issued by the new regulator its initial Certificate of Registration and License to Act as a Pre-Need Company dated April 26, 2010.
